Trademarks & Symbols of the World, 1989 (Complete Set)
A rare chance to buy a three volume set of Yasaburo Kuwayama's Trademarks & Symbols of the World. This is the first edition paperbacks published 1988 & 1989 by Nippon Shuppan Hanba, and perhaps the finest in terms of cover design. The later editions by North Light Books are disappointing and available abundance.
These feature the same basic layouts of the much sought after hardback versions, available here and here, but in smaller format. What makes these particularly eye-catching and desirable is the use of neon spot colours, individually beautiful and stunning together as a set. The inside and end pages are a colour-matched dyed paper with a marble emboss. The interior pages of logos and black ink on white paper. Each volume is in excellent condition, with Volume One suffering sun bleaching down the spine, making the orange appear more yellow. Binding is tight and the exterior and interior pages are crisp. If you're a collector of rare and hard to find logo books, this set is a dream.
